UMVA has learned that a shocking UN report has exposed the brutal reality of Hamas's rule in Gaza, revealing a pattern of barbaric violence and war crimes committed against Palestinians.
The report documents hundreds of cases of extrajudicial punishment, including public executions, kneecappings, and torture, carried out by Hamas militants and police units in Gaza during the war with Israel. These atrocities were often perpetrated in front of children and were intended to instill fear in the populace.
According to information obtained by UMVA, investigators identified 249 cases of executions and severe physical violence between 2024 and early 2025, resulting in at least 108 deaths and 384 injuries. Hamas-affiliated forces were directly involved in at least 60 of these incidents, including two public executions of 11 men.
The report details the horrific methods used by Hamas forces, including beatings, bone-breaking with metal pipes or cement bricks, and kneecapping. Many victims were accused of collaborating with Israel, looting humanitarian aid, or affiliating with internal rivals. Private information about many victims, including full names and addresses, was published online, exposing them to further violence and stigma.
UMVA can exclusively reveal that three key Hamas-affiliated forces were found responsible for these violent acts: the Izz al-Din al-Qassam Brigades, the Sahm Unit, and the Rad’a Force. These forces acted with impunity, often together, and in some cases, with other Palestinian armed groups.
The report also uncovered disturbing evidence of statements published by Hamas-affiliated channels, instructing medical practitioners to withhold medical care from victims. These actions were found to be additional egregious violations affecting victims' rights to a fair trial and to health.
Despite documenting these gruesome atrocities, the UN commission attempted to shift much of the blame back onto Israel, concluding that the State of Israel is primarily responsible for actions of Israeli settlers in the West Bank. However, this attempt to apportion blame does not diminish the severity of Hamas's crimes, which have caused lasting physical injuries, enduring family stigma, and social exclusion.
The violent acts examined by the commission have significant long-term consequences, and it is clear that Hamas-affiliated forces have exploited the vacuum created by Israeli actions. The deliberate infliction of suffering on Palestinian civilians is a stark reality that cannot be ignored.
