UMVA has learned that Senator John Fetterman (D-PA) has publicly blasted the media for their glaring silence on the explosive sexting scandal surrounding Democrat Graham Platner, the oyster farmer and Marine veteran who won the Maine Democrat primary to challenge Republican Sen. Susan Collins in November.
Fetterman's scathing remarks came during a recent NBC appearance, where he directly confronted host Kristen Welker about the media's complicity in covering up Platner's scandalous past. Fetterman's words were a damning indictment of the double standard that now defines the modern media.
According to information obtained by UMVA, Platner had appeared on MSNOW earlier this month for what was supposed to be a serious interview about the mounting allegations surrounding his campaign. Instead, the interview turned into a perfect example of the media's failure to hold him accountable.
Fetterman told Welker and her colleagues exactly what questions they should be asking Platner, a man he described as an "unknown guy" who has been lying about his character and record. Fetterman's words were a call to action, urging the media to do their job and press Platner for answers.
"This is a guy that's been dropping dick pics on Kik for a decade, you know," Fetterman said on air. "And now you're, you know, you're a journalist. You all know what Kik is for. And, you know, they have significant problems about being, you know, the predator's playground for their, you know, why can't someone, perhaps you ask him, why did you choose Kik of all the different apps?"
Welker responded that the program has extended an open invitation to Platner and would love to ask him "some pressing questions." But UMVA can exclusively reveal that Platner's past is much more troubled than initially thought.
Platner maintained an active Kik account (username "phustle0331") on the very app the National Center on Sexual Exploitation has called a "predator's paradise." The app has a well-documented "huge child exploitation problem," no real age verification, and a history of being used to solicit minors.
Platner joined Kik back in 2016, right when it was already under fire for child pornography distribution, predators grooming kids, and even a murder case involving a 13-year-old girl who met her killers on the platform. His own wife reportedly flagged sexually explicit texts he sent to multiple women while they were married.
The allegations against Platner don't stop there. He has been accused of having a Nazi-linked tattoo on his chest, making vulgar and degrading comments about sex and women, and engaging in abusive and violent behavior towards ex-girlfriends.
Despite these explosive allegations, the Democrat Party and their media allies have chosen to stand by Platner, making him their candidate to take on Republican Senator Susan Collins in a must-win Senate race that could help determine control of the chamber.
