TV presenter Carol Vorderman has revealed she was left unconscious after a fall while out on a walk this summer.
The 65-year-old Welsh presenter shared the story on her Instagram, detailing the hospital trip and her recovery from the ensuing dizziness.
Vorderman explained that she tripped over a tree root in late May, resulting in a severe injury that left her unconscious. She was taken to the Bristol Royal Infirmary, where she underwent CT scans and treatment.
Despite being discharged the following day, Vorderman continued to experience symptoms, including massive vomiting and dizziness that made it feel like she was walking on a moving ship.
It was only after undergoing the Epley manoeuvre, a treatment designed to dislodge tiny crystals in the ears, that Vorderman began to feel better.
The manoeuvre involves a series of movements to use gravity to relocate the crystals and alleviate symptoms caused by a head injury, infection, or other triggers.
Vorderman underwent three sessions of the Epley manoeuvre with a physiotherapist and reported significant improvement in her symptoms.
The TV presenter noted that while she is not a doctor and does not advise others on treatment, her experience serves as a personal account of the procedure's effectiveness.
Vorderman's social media post serves as a reminder to prioritize health and safety, especially when engaging in physical activities.
