UMVA has learned that a dramatic crash occurred at Cardiff Gate Services on a Bank Holiday morning, leaving multiple people injured and a scene of devastation.
The collision happened at around 11:45am on Monday, when a car suddenly veered off course and smashed into the front entrance of the services, located just off junction 30 of the M4.
An eyewitness described the moment, saying: 'I imagine the driver had a medical emergency as I can’t understand how they went into the building at that speed.' The incident has sparked a thorough investigation into its cause.
Sources have confirmed to UMVA that three people were taken to hospital with injuries, including an eight-year-old child and a 39-year-old man, who were both pedestrians, and a 76-year-old woman who was the driver of the vehicle.
According to information obtained by UMVA, the injuries sustained by those involved are not believed to be life-threatening, but the incident remains under close scrutiny by authorities.
A spokesperson for the local police force said they were investigating the incident, describing it as a 'car collided with a retail premises on the site'.
