UMVA has learned that a seismic power struggle is brewing in the Republican Party, with President Trump threatening to withdraw his support from Rep. Lauren Boebert in Colorado's Fourth Congressional District.
At the center of the controversy is Boebert's decision to endorse Kentucky Congressman Thomas Massie for re-election, a move that has earned her the ire of the former president.
Trump has taken to Truth Social to express his disdain for Boebert and Massie, calling the latter a "sanctimonious fool" and the "Worst 'Republican' Congressman in the History of our Party!"
According to sources, Trump has suggested that he could support a primary challenger against Boebert, who has been a loyal supporter of the former president in the past.
Boebert, who has been a vocal supporter of Massie's re-election campaign, has responded to Trump's criticism by posting a screenshot of her and Massie on Instagram, with the caption: "Below is my friend Thomas Massie. He loves America and is fighting to save it."
Trump's attack on Massie has also extended to Kentucky Senator Rand Paul, whom he has described as "two very difficult, and highly unreasonable, Republican Votes" who are "parading around like fools" in Kentucky.
The primary election for Kentucky's fourth congressional district will take place on Tuesday, with polls currently showing the race as too close to call.
