Man United offers record bid for World Cup champion

Manchester United have reportedly shown interest in Paraguay goalkeeper Orlando Gill following his World Cup performances. Gill's displays attracted attention from clubs across Europe.

Gill played every minute of Paraguay's five matches, keeping clean sheets against Turkey and Australia and making 28 saves, the most of any keeper in the tournament. His performances were highlighted by decisive saves in crucial moments.

His standout moments included a penalty shootout where he saved shots from Kai Havertz and Nick Woltemade, helping Paraguay eliminate Germany. The goalkeeper also maintained composure throughout the knockout stages.

Gill has a year and a half left on his contract with San Lorenzo and has said he is considering offers but will stay with the club until a deal is confirmed. He emphasized loyalty to his current team while awaiting final negotiations.

Interest has reportedly come from Olympiakos, Aston Villa, Ipswich, Manchester United, Torino, Fiorentina, Feyenoord and Bayern Munich. Each club has expressed a desire to secure the 28‑year‑old's services.

United are said to have offered around $8 million for the 6‑ft‑6‑in keeper, who would serve as backup to Lammens after Onana’s loan departure. The move would strengthen the squad's depth between the posts.
