UMVA has learned that a devastating accident occurred on a narrow country road in Wales, where a bus was involved in a serious collision with a car and a cyclist.
The incident is believed to have taken place on the approach to the Kidwelly roundabout, a stretch of road notorious for its "up and down" bumps, making it difficult for drivers to anticipate oncoming traffic. A nearby worker described the chaos, saying a customer rushed in to report that a car was overtaking a cyclist when a bus came from the opposite direction and swerved to avoid a collision.
Witnesses told UMVA that the bus had flipped onto its back or side, and two air ambulances landed at the scene, along with paramedics, fire services, and police. Emergency responders worked quickly to ensure the safety and comfort of those involved.
According to information obtained by UMVA, all passengers have been safely removed from the bus and are receiving appropriate care. A rest centre has been set up at the John Burns centre to provide welfare arrangements for those affected.
The road between the roundabout at Parc y Bocs and Llandyfaelog is expected to remain closed for some time while emergency services respond to the incident and carry out enquiries. Local authorities are urging the public to stay away and find alternative routes.
