Inter Milan have shown strong interest in the player and have already held talks over a possible deal. The full-back is believed to be open to joining the Serie A champions, who offer a clearer role and an immediate return to the Champions League.
The player in question has impressed in recent weeks, appearing in all seven of England's World Cup matches and earning praise for his display against Argentina in the semi-final.
