BRANTFORD MAYHEM & CAMBRIDGE BLOODSHED: MANHUNT UNDERWAY!

A chilling scene unfolded on a busy highway last week, captured by a vigilant driver’s dashcam. A red pickup truck was seen traveling the wrong way – westbound in the eastbound lanes of Hwy. 403 near Brantford – creating a terrifying situation for oncoming traffic.

The incident occurred around 5:20 p.m. between Wayne Gretzky Parkway and Garden Avenue, and police are actively seeking information about the vehicle and its driver. The footage released reveals a dangerously close call, highlighting the potential for a catastrophic collision.

Fortunately, quick thinking and skillful maneuvering by other drivers averted disaster. Authorities confirmed no injuries or collisions were reported, a remarkable outcome given the perilous circumstances. Investigators are urging anyone with additional dashcam footage or information to come forward.

Police released footage on social media that shows a red pickup truck going westbound on the right-hand eastbound lane of Hwy. 403 on Thursday, March 26, 2026.

In a separate incident, a 36-year-old man is facing charges following a stabbing in Cambridge earlier this month. The altercation took place on March 18th, at approximately 9:45 p.m., in a residential area near Concession and Christopher Streets.

A 25-year-old man was discovered with non-life-threatening injuries and received treatment at a hospital outside the immediate region. The suspect was apprehended on March 20th and now faces a series of serious charges, including assault with a weapon and robbery.

Meanwhile, near Wilfrid Laurier University, a 30-year-old man from Waterloo was arrested after allegedly threatening both individuals and police officers. The incident unfolded on Saturday afternoon, escalating when the man brandished a knife during a dispute.

Responding officers attempted to engage with the man, but he reportedly made direct threats, prompting the deployment of the emergency response team. He was ultimately taken into custody safely, facing charges that include assault with a weapon and uttering threats to cause death or bodily harm.
