FORD EXPLODES: Judge MUST Apologize Over Cop 'Lie' Scandal!

The Premier of Ontario has publicly called for an apology from the judge who presided over the trial of Umar Zameer, the man acquitted in the death of Detective-Constable Jeffrey Northrup. Doug Ford’s statement came swiftly after an investigation by the Ontario Provincial Police cleared three Toronto Police officers of any wrongdoing related to their testimony during the trial.

The controversy stems from instructions given to the jury by Ontario Superior Court Justice Anne Molloy. She directed them to consider the possibility of collusion among the three officers who witnessed Northrup’s death in July 2021, suggesting their accounts were suspiciously similar. This prompted questions about the officers’ credibility and ultimately influenced the jury’s decision.

Zameer was found not guilty on April 21st, with the jury concluding he lacked the intent to kill Northrup after a confrontation in an underground parking garage. The Premier, speaking at a press conference, expressed strong support for the police, stating he “loves all our police services across the province.”

The OPP investigation, initiated at the request of Toronto Police Chief Myron Demkiw, meticulously reviewed the officers’ testimony – Detective Lisa Forbes and Detective Constables Scharnil Pais and Antonio Correa – and found no evidence of dishonesty. This finding directly contradicts the judge’s suggestion of a coordinated effort to mislead the court.

The Toronto Police Association has echoed the call for an apology, emphasizing the damage done to the officers’ reputations. They argue that accountability should extend to all, including those within the judicial system. The association expressed gratitude for the Premier’s unwavering support.

Union president Clayton Campbell passionately defended the officers, stating the judge’s accusations cast a “shadow of doubt” over their integrity. He pointedly refuted the judge’s claim that officers aimed their weapons at Zameer and his wife, asserting the OPP investigation definitively proved otherwise.

Campbell highlighted the profound grief experienced by Northrup’s widow, Margaret, his children, and colleagues, emphasizing that the focus should remain on the tragic loss of a life. He argued that the judge’s apology to Zameer, while the family of the fallen officer sat nearby, was deeply insensitive.

The core of the dispute lies in the interpretation of events leading up to Northrup’s death. The OPP investigation confirmed Northrup was struck and killed by Zameer’s vehicle, a fact Campbell believes was overshadowed by the judge’s questioning of the officers’ accounts. The demand for an apology underscores a belief that the officers were unfairly targeted and their reputations unjustly tarnished.
