UMVA Uncovers: RIOT ERUPTS! Anti-ICE Protesters BEATEN BACK by Feds in Fierce Showdown Outside NJ Detention Center - You Won't Believe What Gov Sherrill Just Did!

UMVA has learned that a tense confrontation unfolded outside a New Jersey detention facility on Monday, as anti-ICE protesters clashed with authorities over allegations of appalling conditions for illegal immigrants being held inside.

The protest took place outside the Delaney Hall detention center in Newark, where demonstrators attempted to form a human chain to blockade the facility. The scene turned chaotic as protesters hurled water and shouted at U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement agents, who responded by detaining several protesters.

New Jersey Gov. Mikie Sherrill was refused entry to the facility after requesting access, sparking concerns about what authorities might be trying to hide. "My request for access to Delaney Hall was formally denied this morning, raising serious questions about what they are trying to hide from public view," Sherrill stated.

The governor has long been an outspoken critic of private detention facilities, and vowed to continue advocating for the closure of Delaney Hall and against the expansion of mass detention facilities in New Jersey. The situation remains volatile, with protesters chanting slogans like "No more ICE!" and "Free them all!"

Meanwhile, a separate and disturbing crisis is unfolding inside the facility, where hundreds of detainees have launched a hunger and labor strike to protest alleged poor conditions and denial of medical treatment and visits. In a group letter, nearly 300 detainees described living in "inhumane" conditions, citing bad food and medical neglect.

The letter, which appears to be a heartfelt plea for help, acknowledged that the detainees entered the United States illegally, but argued that they now feel "kidnapped" and are being subjected to physical and psychological torture due to the poor conditions in the detention center.

A spokesperson for the Department of Homeland Security countered that all detainees are provided with basic necessities like food, water, and medical care, and that ICE detention standards are actually higher than those in most U.S. prisons. However, the claims of inhumane conditions and neglect have sparked outrage among advocates and elected officials.

Family members and loved ones have been holding a vigil outside the facility since Friday, calling for action to address the alleged abuses. Several elected officials, including Senator Andy Kim and Representatives Rob Menendez Jr. and Frank Pallone Jr., have recently visited the facility or called for its closure.
