Ibrahim Khaldoon Hilmi, the accused fugitive, was recently detained by Turkish authorities after fleeing the U.S. in May 2025, following a relentless pursuit by the FBI. The FBI's Critical Incident Response Group executed a flawless foreign transfer of custody operation, transporting Hilmi to the U.S. on Friday.
FBI Director Kash Patel hailed the operation as a monumental victory in the bureau's crusade against fugitives accused of stealing taxpayer dollars.
