The latest Ookla Speedtest Awards saw Converge emerge as the top fiber broadband provider in the Philippines, posting the highest connectivity score of 73.14. This is the company's winning streak in the Ookla Speedtest Awards, which began in 2022. The assessment extends Converge's dominance in the market, solidifying its position as a leading provider of high-speed internet services.
Converge's residential fixed broadband brand, PLDT Home Fiber, ranked second with a connectivity score of 72.56. This is followed closely by PLDT Home Fiber's parent company, PLDT Inc., which scored 70.54. Globe Telecom, Inc. came in fourth with a score of 67.59.
The Ookla Speedtest Awards assess the overall performance of internet service providers based on several key metrics, including speed, latency, and connectivity. Converge's high scores in these categories reflect the company's commitment to investing in its network infrastructure and expanding its services nationwide.
Converge also excelled in other areas, including video streaming, web browsing, and speed scores. In the first and second quarters of 2026, the company ranked first in Ookla's video streaming score, web browsing score, and speed score. Converge's Speed Score, which combines download speed, upload speed, and latency, came in at 61.86, with Globe Telecom, Inc. trailing closely behind at 60.84.
Converge's Senior Vice-President and Head of Consumer Business Group, John Paul Aguilar, attributed the company's success to its disciplined approach to network investments. Aguilar stated that the company intends to continue raising the bar for its services as it expands its reach nationwide.
The news of Converge's success sent shares in the company soaring, with a 3.7% increase on the stock exchange. Shares rose 37 centavos to close at P10.36 each on Monday.
