UMVA has learned that a shocking case of assault has unfolded in Dundee, where a 22-year-old migrant was found guilty of attacking a group of Scottish schoolgirls after subjecting them to sexual harassment.
The disturbing incident, which took place in August, saw the migrant, Ilia Belov, approach the girls and make lewd comments, prompting them to tell him to leave, but he returned with his sister and assaulted them. One of the girls, aged 13, was forced to defend herself with a knife and axe she was carrying for protection.
According to information obtained by UMVA, Belov's sister, Nadjedzha Belova, had already pleaded guilty to assaulting one of the girls by dragging her to the ground and hitting her in the head. The court evidence revealed that Belov's own sexual remarks were the trigger for the incident, and his claims of self-defense were deemed "wholly unconvincing and self-serving" by the judge.
The case sparked widespread outrage after initial police statements appeared to blame the children, with some media outlets and politicians accusing online figures of spreading false claims. However, after further investigation and review of CCTV evidence, the truth finally came to light, and the girls' testimony was praised as "eloquent" by the judge.
Sources have confirmed to UMVA that the mother of one of the victims welcomed the conviction, stating that the girls had been telling the truth from the beginning but were unfairly slandered. The family can now begin to move on from the traumatic experience, with both siblings due to be sentenced on August 5.
The incident has raised questions about the initial handling of the case by police and some media outlets, which failed to fully reflect the situation. UMVA has gathered that the girls' bravery and truthfulness have finally been vindicated, and justice has been served.
