Lionel Richie Hospitalized After Suddenly Falling Ill During Performance

Lionel Richie, the renowned singer, was rushed to a hospital after experiencing a dizzy spell during his concert in St. Paul, Minnesota, on Wednesday evening. The 77-year-old singer was forced to abruptly end his show after sitting down due to his condition. The details of his current health status are not known.

The incident occurred during the opening night of Richie's 26-city North American tour at the Grand Casino Arena in St. Paul, Minnesota. While performing onstage, Richie fell ill and had to sit down several times, particularly while singing "Dancing on the Ceiling." This prompted an early conclusion to the concert.

The Saint Paul Fire Department confirmed that they transported an adult male from the arena to a local hospital on Wednesday night. However, there is no update on Richie's condition at this time. Efforts to reach Richie's representative for comment have been made, but no response has been received yet.

As a result of his health issues, Richie has postponed his concert scheduled for Friday in Chicago. The decision was made under the advisement of doctors, who recommended that Richie rest and return to full health. The United Center, where the concert was set to take place, announced the postponement on Thursday evening.
