BRENNAN UNDER FIRE: Russiagate Bombshells EXPLODE!

BRENNAN UNDER FIRE: Russiagate Bombshells EXPLODE!

A shadow is falling over the figures once central to the investigation into alleged connections between the Trump campaign and Russia. The Justice Department has formally requested classified interview transcripts from the House Intelligence Committee, focusing on the role played by former CIA Director John Brennan.

Brennan’s legal team confirms he is now the explicit “target” of a grand jury probe unfolding in South Florida. This isn’t a distant inquiry; it represents a significant escalation in scrutiny of the origins and conduct of the “Russiagate” investigation.

The investigation isn’t solely focused on Brennan. Reports surfaced last summer indicating both Brennan and former FBI Director James Comey were under FBI investigation for their involvement in the same controversial probe. This initial internal review paved the way for further action.

Then-CIA Director John Ratcliffe took a decisive step last year, referring both Brennan and Comey for potential prosecution. This referral signaled a belief that criminal wrongdoing may have occurred within the highest echelons of the intelligence community.

Leading the charge in the Southern District of Florida is US Attorney Jason Reding Quiñones. He now holds the key to determining whether charges will be filed, and what those charges might be.

The scope of the investigation broadened last November when a federal grand jury issued subpoenas to Brennan, former FBI lawyer Lisa Page, and former FBI counterintelligence agent Peter Strzok. These subpoenas demanded testimony and documents related to their roles in the early stages of the Trump-Russia investigation.

Peter Strzok’s history is particularly fraught. He was terminated from the FBI in 2018 after it was revealed he violated bureau policies while initiating the “Crossfire Hurricane” probe – the official codename for the investigation into potential Trump-Russia collusion – in July 2016.

Damning text messages between Strzok and Lisa Page, his colleague and romantic partner, revealed a clear bias against Donald Trump. They discussed a clandestine “insurance policy” designed to prevent his election, hinting at a coordinated effort to undermine his candidacy.

The House Intelligence Committee acted Tuesday night, with Republicans voting along party lines to release Brennan’s classified transcripts to the Justice Department. This move underscores the seriousness of the investigation and the determination to pursue potential criminal cases.

Democrats on the committee vehemently objected, arguing they were given insufficient time to review the material before the vote. This division highlights the deep political fissures surrounding the origins of the Russia investigation and its aftermath.

Adding to the pressure, former FBI Director James Comey was also subpoenaed last week as part of the Justice Department’s ongoing Russiagate investigation. The net is tightening, and the implications could be far-reaching.
