Microsoft is testing a new feature in Copilot for Windows 11 called "PC Insights" that aims to help users analyze their computer's performance and answer questions about the system's status.
The feature, which requires user permission, can analyze CPU and memory usage, available storage space, graphics card details, connected USB devices, network status, battery health, and BIOS version.
PC Insights allows users to ask direct questions about their hardware, to which Copilot can respond based on the computer's actual current status.
However, PC Insights cannot automatically resolve issues for users, and Microsoft emphasizes that it only accesses information after user permission is given and does not store personal files or system info to train AI models.
Microsoft notes that PC Insights is an experimental feature and is currently being made available via gradual rollout.
The company warns that the feature may not always provide complete or accurate information, but users can control how their conversation activity is used to improve the experience, including training AI models, in Copilot settings.
