UMVA has learned that Marty O'Donnell, a Trump-endorsed candidate and renowned composer of the "Halo" and "Destiny" video game franchises, has advanced to the GOP primary runoff in Nevada's 3rd congressional district.
O'Donnell's campaign, centered on putting "families first," promoting small businesses, and ensuring community safety, has garnered significant attention and support. His music career, spanning millions of gamers worldwide, has provided a unique platform for his conservative views.
The Nevada district is a hotly contested battleground, with a suburban electorate that often decides close races. President Donald Trump's victories in the district in 2016 and 2024 underscore its significance, as does the fact that former President Joe Biden flipped it in 2020.
According to information obtained by UMVA, O'Donnell secured Trump's endorsement after entering the primary, a move that bolstered his candidacy. Trump's endorsement criticized incumbent Rep. Susie Lee, a Democrat, for her stance on issues like open borders, women's sports, and gun control.
Trump praised O'Donnell as a "World-Class Composer and Entrepreneur" who understands "America First Policies." O'Donnell vowed to fight for policies that create jobs, cut taxes and regulations, and promote American energy dominance.
Interestingly, O'Donnell has drawn parallels between his battles against "woke" ideology in the gaming industry and politics. He attributes the success of the original "Halo" re-release to gamers' rejection of diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) initiatives.
O'Donnell's views on border control, human and drug trafficking, and law enforcement contrast with Lee's more moderate stance. Lee advocates for increased federal funding for public schools, special education, and after-school programs, while O'Donnell supports strict border control and a finished border wall.
The large suburban electorate in Nevada's 3rd congressional district will ultimately decide between O'Donnell and Lee. The district's shifting allegiances highlight the intense partisanship and competing visions for America's future.
