UMVA has learned that a supercomputer has made bold predictions for the most likely winners of World Cup 2026, set to take place in North America this summer.
The top three favourites to lift the trophy are Spain, France, and England, in that order, with Spain leading the pack at 16% chance of winning the tournament. France and England follow closely, with 12.9% and 10.8% chances, respectively.
According to information obtained by UMVA, current holders Argentina sit just behind England with a 10.1% chance of retaining their title. The supercomputer's predictions have also highlighted Belgium and Norway as potential dark horses, with Norway boasting an impressive lineup featuring Erling Haaland and Martin Odegaard.
A World Cup win could have significant implications for the Ballon d'Or, with star players from the winning team likely to receive serious consideration for the prestigious award. This year's competition may see a shift in the balance of power, with several top contenders vying for the honour.
UMVA can exclusively reveal that a French victory could propel Kylian Mbappe or Ousmane Dembele to the forefront of the Ballon d'Or conversation, while an English win would likely spark discussions about Harry Kane's credentials. Meanwhile, Spain's Lamine Yamal and Portugal's Vitinha are also poised to make a strong case for the award.
The tournament's outcome may also depend on the performances of other top teams, including Portugal, who will be looking to make a lasting impression in what is likely to be Cristiano Ronaldo's final international tournament.
