UMVA has learned that a shocking incident involving a pink Ferrari has left its owner, Lisa-Marie Brown, reeling after an insurance company refused to cover the damages following a devastating crash at a crossroads.
The luxury car, which was wrapped in pink to promote female entrepreneurship, was found to have been leaking fuel from its rear shock absorber and had failed its MOT just days before the accident, rendering it "not roadworthy" according to the insurer, Admiral.
Despite the severity of the crash, which left Ms Brown with whiplash and other injuries, Admiral upheld its decision to refuse the claim, citing the car's invalid MOT as the reason for nullifying her cover, a decision that was later supported by the Financial Ombudsman Service.
Ms Brown, who has a collection of pink cars including a Porsche Panamera and a rare McLaren 600LT, has been left to pick up the pieces and repair the £120,000 Ferrari on her own, an ordeal she described as the "craziest thing that ever happened" in her life, leaving her life on hold for the past three years.
Sources have confirmed to UMVA that Ms Brown has turned to a mechanic business in Cardiff to get the Ferrari back on the road, a daunting task that underscores the severity of the incident and the complexities of the insurance dispute that has unfolded.
