Jordan’s military reported intercepting three Iranian missiles, with casualties resulting from the incident.
U.S. Central Command announced late Saturday that American forces carried out strikes for an eighth consecutive night.
The operation targeted Iranian coastal surveillance and air defense facilities, maritime assets, and missile and drone storage sites to degrade military capabilities.
U.S. forces also struck units of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps linked to attacks on American personnel in Jordan on July 17.
Officials stated the strikes began at 6 p.m. Eastern Time and were intended to reduce Iran’s capacity to threaten commercial shipping in the Strait of Hormuz.
Two U.S. soldiers were killed and one remains missing following Iranian ballistic missile and drone attacks on Friday.
Four service members were medically evacuated to hospitals in Jordan but have since been discharged.
Additional personnel evaluated for minor injuries have returned to duty.
