BORDER SHUTDOWN: Illegal Crossings COLLAPSE After 10 Months of ZERO Releases!

For ten consecutive months, a remarkable shift has occurred at the U.S. border: not a single migrant has been released into the country’s interior. This unprecedented streak signals a dramatic change in border security, a sustained period of historically low illegal crossings.

The data, reflecting February’s activity, reveals a significant decline in encounters nationwide. U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) recorded 26,963 encounters, a staggering 22% decrease from the prior month and an 88% drop compared to averages seen previously.

The southwest border experienced an even more pronounced change. Apprehensions plummeted to 6,603 in February – a figure 92% lower than the thirty-year monthly average and a dramatic 97% decrease from a peak experienced just months before.

Daily crossings have also fallen sharply, averaging just 236 apprehensions per day in February. This represents a 95% reduction compared to the numbers seen in the recent past, painting a picture of a border increasingly under control.

This period of heightened enforcement hasn’t come at the expense of disrupting the flow of dangerous substances. In fact, authorities report a surge in drug seizures, confiscating over 79,000 pounds of narcotics nationwide – the highest monthly total in over two years.

Fentanyl seizures alone jumped by 67% from the previous month, with significant increases also recorded in marijuana, methamphetamine, and cocaine. This indicates a focused effort to intercept illicit drugs even amidst reduced border crossings.

Officials emphasize that this trend reflects a deliberate “enforcement-first” approach, prioritizing the integrity of the nation’s borders. The focus remains steadfast on national security and protecting the homeland while continuing to facilitate legitimate travel and trade.

The agency acknowledges that threats are constantly evolving, but maintains a firm commitment to adapting and meeting those challenges head-on. This dedication underscores a continued resolve to secure the border and safeguard national interests.
