The United States government has unveiled a new, limited-edition passport to commemorate the 250th anniversary of American independence. The passport features an image of President Donald Trump on the cover, alongside a stern warning to visitors to behave appropriately.
The image, which was posted on the President's social media account, shows Trump's signature on one page and a mock-up of the Founding Fathers signing the Declaration of Independence on another. The page also includes the phrase "United States of America 250" in bold letters.
The State Department has announced that the new passports will be available to any American citizen who applies for a passport during the rollout, which is scheduled to take place this summer. The passports are part of the Trump administration's broader "America250" celebration, which includes a Grand Prix race on the National Mall in August and a UFC fight on the White House South Lawn.
The U.S. has enacted stricter vetting policies for foreign visitors, explicitly demanding that tourists and nonimmigrants respect and follow U.S. laws and institutions. These tighter rules coincide with the 2026 FIFA World Cup, where hundreds of thousands of foreigners have come to the U.S. to watch the games, which end in July.
