TRUMP THREAT CASE EXPLODES: TikTok Star Walks FREE!

A chilling accusation hung over Morgan Morrow, a West Virginia library worker, earlier this year. She was arrested and charged with making a terroristic threat against then-President Donald Trump, stemming from a disturbing post on social media that quickly ignited a firestorm.

The initial accusation, detailed in a Facebook post by the Jackson County Sheriff's Department, alleged Morrow had used social media to “recruit individuals to pursue and assassinate” the President. The post described a swift investigation and Morrow’s subsequent detention and arrest, painting a stark picture of potential danger.

At the heart of the case was a TikTok post containing the unsettling sentence: "Surely a sn!per [sniper] with a terminal illness can't be a big ask out of 343 million." This single line, overlaid on a video, became the focal point of a criminal complaint and the justification for Morrow’s arrest.

However, the case took an unexpected turn on April 16th. The prosecuting attorney filed a motion to dismiss the charges “without prejudice,” a legal maneuver that allows for the possibility of future prosecution, but effectively ends the current proceedings.

The reason for the dismissal centered on a critical procedural error. According to reports, Morrow had not been properly informed of her Miranda rights during interrogation. This fundamental oversight cast a shadow over the validity of any statements she may have made to authorities.

Morrow’s defense attorney, Mark Atkinson, expressed strong relief at the outcome. He stated unequivocally that his client “never should have been charged at all,” and welcomed the resolution of the case. The dismissal brings an end to a period of uncertainty and legal battles for Morrow.

During questioning, after being read her Miranda rights, Morrow reportedly admitted to writing and posting the TikTok statement. She claimed, however, that the post was intended as a threat directed specifically at the President, a detail that fueled the initial charges.

The incident also led to Morrow’s separation from her position at the Jackson County Public Library. Library Director Carla Long confirmed that Morrow is no longer employed there, marking another significant consequence of the widely publicized case.

The dismissal, while offering relief to Morrow, underscores the importance of adhering to constitutional rights during law enforcement investigations. A seemingly clear-cut case was ultimately derailed by a failure to properly advise a suspect of their legal protections.
