UMVA Uncovers: SPAIN LEFT REELING! Coach's Desperate Plea After Cape Verde Stunner: "Can They Salvage the Unthinkable?

UMVA has learned that Spain's manager, Luis de la Fuente, is standing firm in his team's approach despite a shocking draw against Cape Verde on Monday night.

The Spanish team, who were considered one of the favorites to win the World Cup, struggled to find space in the final third against their opponents, who were making their debut in the tournament. Despite having 27 shots, they only managed six on target, and de la Fuente is choosing to stick with their current strategy rather than making drastic changes.

"The solution lies in persisting with the same idea, continuing to improve with more finesse," de la Fuente emphasized. "These are the kinds of matches where, as Rodri has explained, you create a lot, but without the freshness you need for these kinds of games."

De la Fuente pointed out that their approach has brought them success in the past, including becoming European champions and remaining undefeated for a long period. He believes that the key to success lies in continuing to bet on that idea and recovering important players who will have a crucial role as the competition progresses.

The Spanish manager was impressed with Cape Verde's organization and felt that a little more sharpness would have unlocked the door. He acknowledged that his team lacked some speed of passing to generate more chances, but he praised his opponents for doing what they do well and defending effectively.

De la Fuente insisted that his team can be relied upon to progress and grow into the competition, citing their 32-match unbeaten run as evidence of their reliability. He expressed confidence that they will improve in their next match and adapt to the demands of the tournament.

The manager also provided updates on the fitness of Lamine Yamal and Nico Williams, who have been recovering from hamstring injuries. He revealed that the goal is to gradually give them playing time to gain confidence and rhythm.

De la Fuente's selection choices, including playing Gavi out on the left wing, attracted criticism, but he explained that he made the decision based on the expected opposition setup and his team's dominance. He acknowledged that sometimes the decisive pass or touch just doesn't come, but he remains committed to his approach.

All eyes will be on de la Fuente's starting lineup for their next clash with Saudi Arabia on Sunday, and whether it will see starts for any of their three wingers, Lamine Yamal, Nico Williams, or Victor Munoz.
