Apple is preparing to unveil the iPhone 18 series this fall, including the iPhone 18 Pro, iPhone 18 Pro Max, and a rumored foldable model. The company is expected to introduce a new palette of colors and subtle design updates for the Pro line.
The most prominent new hue is a dark cherry shade, positioned as the signature color for the 18 Pro and 18 Pro Max. While less saturated than last year’s Cosmic Orange, it offers a rich, wine‑toned appearance that distinguishes the new models.
In addition to dark cherry, the Pro lineup may feature a light blue that echoes the current Mist Blue, a dark gray, and a silver variant similar to the existing silver option. These colors are still under development, and Apple could trim the selection before final production.
Industry insiders have provided Pantone references for the proposed colors: Light Blue (2121), Dark Cherry (6076), Dark Gray (426C), and Silver (427C). Actual retail shades may vary slightly due to manufacturing and lighting conditions.
Design sketches suggest that the 18 Pro and 18 Pro Max will largely mirror their predecessors, with a smaller Dynamic Island that frees additional screen real estate when not displaying live content.
A possible refinement includes a narrower gap between the rear glass cutout and the camera bump, which could reduce the visible separation between the display and the camera module.
The foldable iPhone, expected to resemble an iPad mini when unfolded, will likely come in silver, white, and an indigo shade reminiscent of the Deep Blue offered on the iPhone 17 Pro.
Technical renders show the foldable device will have two rear cameras, a selfie camera on the outer display, and a second selfie camera in the upper‑left corner of the inner screen. The folded form factor measures approximately 4.7 millimeters in thickness, slimmer than the 5.6 millimeter Air model.
All variants of the iPhone 18, including the Pro models and the foldable device, are slated for a September launch. The base iPhone 18 and a new Air model are projected to arrive in the first half of 2027.
