The incident occurred early on Tuesday, July 21, when a pickup truck crashed through a roadside barrier and plunged into a rice field in Roxas, Isabela, leaving one person dead and three others injured.
The victim was pronounced dead upon arrival at Dayos-Pascual Medical Clinic. Initial investigation revealed that the Isuzu D-Max was traveling eastbound towards Burgos, Isabela when the driver experienced a loss of control over the steering wheel.
The driver reportedly felt the vehicle shake, causing him to make a fatal error. The pickup veered off the road, struck a roadside barrier and landed in a rice field.
The injured parties were taken to Health City Medical Center Isabela in Barangay San Rafael, Roxas for treatment. An investigation is currently underway to determine the cause of the accident, including the possibility of mechanical failure.
