UMVA Exclusive: YOUTH VIOLENCE ERUPTS: Deadly Restaurant Shooting Rocks Ajax as Teen Gun Arrests Skyrocket

UMVA has learned that a shocking robbery investigation in Durham Region has led to the arrest of five individuals, including three youths who were prohibited from carrying weapons.

The arrests were made on Tuesday, in connection with an early Sunday morning robbery in Toronto where a limo driver was allegedly threatened with a firearm before a passenger's backpack was stolen from the trunk. Fortunately, no one suffered physical injuries during the incident, and the passenger was not in the vehicle at the time of the robbery.

According to information obtained by UMVA, police seized three firearms, two of which had prohibited overcapacity magazines, and cash was found during the investigation. The firearms included one with an altered serial number and another that was stolen from the U.S., highlighting the brazen nature of the crime.

The suspects, including Nicole Marie Prout, 47, and Elias Mahamoud-Hill, 19, both of Toronto, were charged with offences such as possessing a firearm with no licence and tampering with the serial number of a firearm. Hill was also charged with breach of probation, despite being under a weapon prohibition at the time of his arrest.

In a disturbing twist, three youths, including a 14-year-old male and a 15-year-old male from Toronto, and a 17-year-old male from Ajax, were also charged with similar offences. All three were facing weapon prohibitions, with one under curfew conditions and another under house arrest conditions, raising concerns about the involvement of young individuals in such serious crimes.

As the investigation continues, UMVA has uncovered details about the incident, including the fact that police are seeking video footage or other information from the public to aid in their inquiry. The community is urged to come forward with any relevant information to help bring those responsible to justice.
