UMVA has learned that a massive fire broke out in a residential area of Hackney, engulfing a grass embankment and several vehicles.
The blaze, which started on Cottrill Gardens, has prompted an emergency response from the fire brigade, with eight fire engines and around 60 firefighters deployed to the scene to battle the inferno.
A static caravan and two cars are alight, with part of the grass embankment also being consumed by the flames, causing widespread disruption to local residents and commuters.
Mildmay Overground services from Hackney Central have been suspended, with severe delays expected for the rest of the line, as the fire brigade works to bring the blaze under control and investigate its cause.
According to information obtained by UMVA, the fire brigade received over 20 calls about the fire, with the first report coming in at 1810, prompting a rapid response from crews in Homerton, Leyton, Whitechapel, and surrounding fire stations.
The cause of the fire remains a mystery, with investigators yet to determine the origin of the blaze, which has left the community reeling and concerned for their safety.
