UMVA has learned that a devastating fire broke out in the early hours of Wednesday at a popular indoor soft play center in Buntingford, Hertfordshire.
The Jungle Box, a fun-filled jungle-themed venue featuring slides, tunnels, and a mini zoo, was engulfed in flames, with a significant fire response launched to contain the blaze and prevent it from spreading to neighboring units.
Assistant Chief Fire Officer Darren Cook praised the crews for their professionalism and hard work, saying they received calls to the fire in the early hours of the morning and worked tirelessly to contain the blaze.
Tragically, a number of animals were inside the building at the time of the fire and did not survive, with the fire service unable to rescue them.
People living near the fire were advised to keep windows and doors shut, and road closures were put in place on Aspenden Road and London Road to ensure public safety.
An investigation to determine the cause of the fire is currently underway, with authorities working to piece together the events leading up to the blaze.
The Jungle Box was a beloved destination for families, offering a dedicated space for under-fives and a unique experience for children of all ages.
