PEZA Approves Tokai Electronics’ Expansion Project

PEZA announced a supplemental agreement with Tokai Electronics Philippines, Inc., enabling the company to expand its operations in Batangas.

The new arrangement permits Tokai Electronics to construct an additional warehouse at the Lima Technology Center Special Economic Zone in Malvar, Batangas.

Under the agreement, the company may store, deposit, and safeguard electronic goods, as well as manage import, procurement, packaging, and preparation for resale, transfer, disposition, or export.

The supplemental agreement extends Tokai Electronics’ 1998 registration, which had only covered warehousing activities at the Laguna Technopark Special Economic Zone.

Tokai Electronics is a subsidiary of Tokai Electronics Co. Ltd., which operates in multiple countries including the United States, India, Indonesia, Germany, China, Hong Kong, Taiwan, Thailand, and Singapore.

PEZA Director-General Tereso O. Panga noted that the expansion demonstrates locators’ readiness to scale and deepen their presence within registered ecozones.

The Philippines aims to become a global hub for electronics and semiconductor manufacturing, targeting $110 billion in exports by 2030.
