The 2026 Toronto International Film Festival (TIFF) has announced the selection of a new sociopolitical drama, Silenced Nights, to compete in the Platform section of the festival. The film, directed by Lawrence "Law" Fajardo, marks a historic moment for Philippine cinema as it is the first Filipino film to enter TIFF's main juried competition since the program was launched 11 years ago.

Silenced Nights centers on an ordinary laborer who witnesses the police kill a teenage boy, drawing inspiration from the 2017 death of Kian delos Santos, a major turning point during the Philippine government's war on drugs. The film will have its world premiere at TIFF and is set to open in Philippine theaters on Sept. 16.

Film Concerts PH is bringing two symphony tours to the Philippines, starting with UNDERTALE: The Determination Symphony, celebrating the game Undertale's 10th anniversary. The concert will be performed at the Proscenium Theater in Rockwell, Makati on Oct. 17, featuring music curated by creator and composer Toby Fox, performed live by the 25-piece Filharmonika Orchestra, and conducted by Thanapol Setabrahmana. Public ticket sales will start on Aug. 11 at noon via Ticketmelon.

The second concert lined up is Jujutsu Kaisen in Concert, scheduled for Nov. 28 and 29 at the Newport Performing Arts Theater in Pasay City. It uses a hybrid ensemble of classical and modern instruments to perform the music of the animé Jujutsu Kaisen. Tickets are now on sale via Ticketmelon, with prices ranging from P1,499 to P6,999.

Nike's global running experience, the Nike After Dark Tour, will feature a 10K race in Manila, open to women of all backgrounds and abilities. The race will start at KM 0 in Luneta, continue through the historic streets of Old Manila, and end at Quirino Grandstand. Registration for the Nike After Dark Tour Manila 2026 opens at noon on July 29.

The film will receive its world premiere at the 83rd Venice International Film Festival and will stream internationally on Disney+ after its theatrical run.
