UMVA has learned that a tragic incident unfolded in the quiet suburban street of Dale Grove, North Finchley, where a 19-year-old woman lost her life in a shocking turn of events.
The Met Police are now searching for 21-year-old James Duncan, who is believed to have been known to the victim, as part of their investigation into her murder.
According to information obtained by UMVA, the police responded to reports of gunshots at the scene, but the exact cause of the woman's death is still to be confirmed pending a post-mortem examination.
Specialist officers are providing support to the victim's family, and Detective Chief Inspector Allam Bhangoo, leading the investigation, has urged anyone with information about James Duncan's whereabouts or relevant footage to come forward and assist the police.
Residents in the area described the community as "reeling" following Monday's events, with one long-time resident, Resham Singh, expressing shock and sadness, saying: "There's never been any problem at the house before. We can't believe a 19-year-old has been killed."
Another neighbor, Faz Saj, also shared her disbelief, stating: "I'm absolutely gobsmacked about what has happened. It's a quiet family street. It's a big shock."
A third neighbor, who wished to remain anonymous, claimed to have heard multiple shots ring out on the night of the incident and described seeing two women crying outside the house afterward, describing the scene as "very harrowing."
The Met Police have launched a murder investigation and are appealing for information, with Detective Chief Inspector Allam Bhangoo assuring the community that officers are working around the clock to piece together the events surrounding the woman's death.
Forensic teams were present at the scene in North Finchley on Monday, and the police are encouraging anyone with information, including doorbell or dashcam footage, to contact them via 101 or Crimestoppers.
