HITLER SYMPATHIZER IN ONTARIO GOVERNMENT?! You Won't Believe This.

HITLER SYMPATHIZER IN ONTARIO GOVERNMENT?! You Won't Believe This.

A storm of controversy has erupted over recent hiring practices within Ontario’s largest public service union. Disturbing historical social media posts, allegedly belonging to a newly appointed campaign officer, have surfaced, igniting outrage and raising serious questions about vetting procedures.

The posts, archived by an online watchdog group, reportedly date back over a decade and express shockingly admiring sentiments towards Adolf Hitler. One alleged tweet from 2012 stated a desire to have lived during World War II “just to see the genius, Hitler, at work.” Another, from six months later, confessed a repeated “falling in love” with the dictator upon reading about him.

The alleged statements didn’t stop there. A further post from 2013 echoed a dangerous and age-old conspiracy, claiming “the whole world is controlled by Zionist Jews.” These deeply antisemitic expressions are now fueling anxieties among members of the union and prompting calls for immediate action.

OPSEU flags were on display at a recent anti-Israel rally in Toronto.

Concerns have been escalating within the union for some time. Jewish members recently filed a human rights complaint, alleging a growing atmosphere of marginalization and antisemitism following the October 7th attacks. This complaint highlighted a perceived openness to anti-Jewish propaganda within the organization.

Adding to the unease, the union reportedly bypassed recommendations from its own Jewish caucus and instead engaged a controversial organization to conduct mandatory antisemitism training. This decision further fueled distrust and a sense of being unheard by Jewish members.

News of the alleged posts spread quickly over the weekend, prompting swift condemnation from former union leaders. One former president described the situation as “deeply concerning,” questioning how such a hire could occur within a union that champions equity and human rights.

Another former leader publicly called for the immediate termination of the employee’s contract, labeling the posts a clear human rights violation. The sentiment was echoed by a member of the Canadian Jewish Labour Committee, who expressed alarm that the individual was hired in the first place, questioning the extent of due diligence performed.

A response from the union president acknowledged the concerns and stated the matter had been escalated to the “people and cultures unit.” However, critics argue this response is insufficient, demanding a strong public condemnation of the alleged hateful rhetoric and a clear demonstration of commitment to inclusivity.

The situation has placed immense pressure on union leadership to act decisively. Many are now watching closely, awaiting a response that will either reaffirm the union’s stated values or confirm the fears of those who feel increasingly unsafe and marginalized within its ranks.

The core question remains: how could someone with such allegedly extremist views be entrusted with a position within an organization dedicated to representing and protecting its members, particularly in light of growing concerns about antisemitism?
