Century Pacific Food, Inc. reports that its General Santos operations are approaching normal levels following the June 8 earthquake that disrupted production.
The company resumed operations within a week, initially at reduced capacity. As of June 30, production is close to normal, with only some raw materials still being replaced. The company did not disclose a specific recovery percentage.
Earlier, the firm had restored partial operations after structural safety assessments and expected a gradual return to full capacity over the next one to two weeks.
The initial focus was on accounting for employees and providing relief assistance to workers and nearby communities before shifting attention to operational restoration.
Restarting production is viewed as a key measure to support the approximately 13,000 jobs tied to the General Santos facilities.
The chief operating officer emphasized that safety was the first priority, followed by stability, and that production was restored in phases as assessments concluded.
Current efforts concentrate on achieving productivity and sustainability, with the company monitoring aftershocks and maintaining safety protocols to ensure a safe return to work.
Century Pacific Food manufactures branded products such as Century Tuna, Argentina, 555, Ligo, and Birch Tree, and supplies private-label tuna and coconut-based products for export markets.
Shares in the company closed at P30.80, reflecting a decline of 0.65%.
