Former President Donald Trump asserted that Iran is currently under the watchful eye of the United States Space Force, revealing the claim in a recent post on his social media platform. The statement arrived amidst a broader discussion regarding potential negotiations and a shift in approach towards the nation.
Trump described a scenario of close collaboration with Iran, suggesting a “very productive Regime Change” has taken place. He specifically stated that uranium enrichment would cease, and the US would actively work with Iran to locate and remove deeply buried nuclear material, which he referred to as “Nuclear ‘Dust’.”
The former president emphasized that Iranian sites have remained untouched since a previous attack and are now subject to “very exacting Satellite Surveillance” – a task he attributed to the Space Force. He also indicated ongoing discussions regarding tariff and sanction relief, claiming significant progress with many points already agreed upon.
Established in 2019, the Space Force has often been a subject of public discussion, sometimes viewed as an unconventional addition to the US military. Its role, as described by Trump, centers on monitoring activities within Iran, particularly concerning its nuclear program.
Trump’s post alluded to the retrieval of “nuclear dust” from Iranian sites, a concept previously discussed as a potential operation involving US troops. This idea stemmed from reports suggesting Iran buried uranium stores during a past conflict.
Last year, following strikes on alleged nuclear facilities, the US reportedly “entombed” a substantial amount of nuclear material at a site in Isfahan. While access remains challenging, concerns persist about Iran potentially regaining access to this material through a vulnerable point.
Previously, the US hesitated to retrieve the material due to perceived risks. However, Trump had hinted at the possibility of future action, stating that while current efforts focused on “decimating” Iranian capabilities, reclaiming the uranium remained an option for later consideration.
Iran has been actively fortifying its nuclear facilities, notably the Natanz complex, in response to previous attacks. The US and Israel have jointly targeted Iran’s military infrastructure, leadership, and nuclear ambitions in recent months.
A temporary, two-week ceasefire between Iran and the US/Israel has recently been established. Trump announced the US would assist with traffic flow in the Strait of Hormuz, anticipating “lots of positive action” and significant economic gains from reconstruction efforts.
Iran’s security council has indicated it will present a 10-point plan to the US, facilitated through Pakistan. Despite this development, Iranian officials have cautioned that the conflict is not yet resolved, signaling continued tensions and a complex path forward.
