Marcos Plans Simple, Dignified State of the Nation Address

President Ferdinand R. Marcos, Jr. has called for a “simple but dignified” fifth State of the Nation Address, with Malacañang signaling a scaled-down ceremony for the annual event.

The address is scheduled for July 27 and will be delivered before a joint session of Congress hosted by the House of Representatives.

Palace Press Officer Clarissa A. Castro said preparations are being coordinated with the House, which is leading arrangements for the gathering.

Castro said the decision to keep the event understated reflects the host chamber’s preference for restraint in the program.

She confirmed there will be no celebrity directors or high-profile performers, emphasizing that the occasion will remain formal and dignified despite its simplified format.
