Fatal Brain Injury Reported in Crash Investigation

The Metropolitan Police has launched a criminal investigation into the death of a 23-year-old Virgin Atlantic aircraft technician who was injured on June 11 and died on July 7.

The technician, who has not been named by police, underwent various surgeries in hospital but unfortunately, the injuries were fatal.

A Virgin Atlantic spokesman released a statement saying the company is "heartbroken" at the death of a "much-loved" member of the team.

Officers were called to Heathrow Airport at 8.49am on June 11 after receiving reports that a man had been injured.

The investigation, which is being carried out in conjunction with the Health and Safety Executive, is ongoing with no further information available at this time.

The safety and wellbeing of Virgin Atlantic's employees is always a top priority, and the company is cooperating fully with the investigation to establish all the facts.
