Major Retailers Pull Apples and Kiwis from Shelves Amid Salmonella Concerns

The UK's food safety authorities have announced a recall of various fruit packs due to the presence of salmonella.

Salmonella can cause a range of symptoms, including diarrhoea, fever, and stomach cramps. Additional symptoms may include nausea, vomiting, chills, headache, and blood in the stool. In severe cases, dehydration and exhaustion can occur if left untreated.

Consumers who have purchased the affected products are advised not to eat them and to return the items to their nearest store for a full refund. Stores such as Tesco, Asda, Morrisons, Sainsburys, and M&S have issued point of sales notices informing customers of the recall. Refunds will be issued without the need for a receipt.
