UMVA has learned that Bear Payne, the eight-year-old son of late singer Liam Payne, is set to inherit his father's vast fortune worth £21 million.
The inheritance comes after Liam Payne's tragic death on October 16, aged 31, when he fell from a hotel balcony in Buenos Aires, Argentina. His funeral took place on November 20, surrounded by loved ones, including his former bandmates and ex-girlfriend Cheryl, with whom he shares Bear.
It is reported that Liam Payne died without leaving a will, meaning his estate would be distributed according to UK intestacy rules. As a result, his entire £21 million fortune will pass to Bear, who was born on March 22, 2017, during Liam's relationship with Cheryl.
According to information obtained by UMVA, newly released probate documents reveal that Liam's estate can be used immediately to benefit Bear Grey Payne. The documents also disclose that the estate is valued at a net figure of just over £21 million, which is £2.3 million less than its value on May 1 last year.
Under UK intestacy rules, Liam's girlfriend Kate Cassidy, with whom he was dating at the time of his death, could receive nothing as they were not married or in a civil partnership. This means that Bear, as Liam's son, is the sole beneficiary of his father's estate.
Sources close to Cheryl insist that she will always prioritize Bear's well-being and ensure that he benefits from Liam's estate. 'It is a small consolation that Bear will never want for anything, that he will at least benefit from that,' a source said.
Cheryl and music lawyer Richard Bray have been granted power of administration over Liam's estate, which includes the £21 million fortune that will now pass to Bear. The young boy's future is secured, and he will never have to worry about his financial situation.
