A chilling scene unfolded Wednesday evening at City Hall, as a group, faces masked, openly voiced support for those actively working against American interests. This wasn’t a hidden gathering, but a brazen display of extremism played out in broad daylight.
The rally, advertised as a “Hands Off Iran” demonstration, quickly devolved into something far more disturbing. Witnesses reported cheers erupting as the deaths of U.S. soldiers were celebrated, and explicit praise was given to organizations like Hamas, Hezbollah, and the Houthis.
Captured on video, a speaker in a red hoodie ignited the crowd with a venomous call: “Until we have done everything in our power to bring the United States to its knees, let us not lose sight of the enemy. For every U.S. military base that crumbles, and for every U.S. soldier who returns home in a casket, we cheer!” The words hung in the air, a stark declaration of hostility.
The speaker’s rhetoric didn’t stop at condemnation. He openly championed America’s most dangerous adversaries, stating, “Hamas, Hezbollah, Ansar Allah [the Houthis], and all the resistance forces – we celebrate these popular forces on the ground.” He linked their strength directly to Iranian support, framing it as a vital lifeline.
Demonstrators carried flags representing both Palestine and Iran, while simultaneously desecrating the American flag. Signs proclaiming “Amerika is the head of the snake” and “Right to resist, right to return” underscored the depth of their animosity.
Those present described a disturbing lack of concern for the plight of Iranians suffering under their own government. The focus remained solely on perceived American wrongdoing, revealing a singular, unwavering agenda.
The demonstration reportedly drew members from various groups, including Indivisible Philadelphia, Brandywine Peace Community, the Prayers for Peace Alliance and CODEPINK, raising questions about the broader network supporting these views.
The display prompted condemnation even from within the political establishment. Senator John Fetterman publicly denounced the scene as “truly appalling,” questioning the silence from other Democratic leaders.
The event has sparked a wave of reactions, with many expressing outrage and calling for decisive action against those who openly celebrate violence and hostility towards the United States. The incident serves as a stark reminder of the extremist ideologies present within the country.
