Aboitiz InfraCapital, the operator of Laguindingan International Airport, announced that the airport will continue its phased expansion in alignment with the Municipality of Laguindingan’s Masterplan 2050.
The company outlined a long‑term development roadmap that includes terminal upgrades, modernization of airport systems, expansion of commercial spaces, digital innovation, and operational enhancements.
Since taking over operations and maintenance, Aboitiz InfraCapital has implemented a series of operational and passenger‑experience improvements, reinforcing the airport’s service standards.
In April, the operator completed airside upgrades, notably enhancing the apron to provide clearer guidance for aircraft and ground personnel, thereby improving safety and efficiency.
Looking ahead, the phased upgrades will follow the Masterplan 2050, which aims to position Laguindingan as an emerging regional hub through comprehensive infrastructure development.
To fund these initiatives, Aboitiz InfraCapital increased its capital expenditure to PHP 8.8 billion this year, up from the previously allocated PHP 4.1 billion for 2025, supporting expansion across its airport, water, and telecommunications tower businesses.
