Kadiwa Sales Reach P4.4 Billion Milestone

Kadiwa Sales Reach P4.4 Billion Milestone

Government‑backed KADIWA stores reported cumulative sales exceeding P4.4 billion for the period from 2022 to 2026. The P20‑per‑kilogram rice program contributed more than half of that total, highlighting its impact on the retail network.

The subsidized rice initiative generated approximately P2.4 billion in sales after distributing 121,271 metric tons of rice. The program reached about 12.1 million beneficiaries, providing a low‑cost staple to households across the country.

According to the Agriculture Secretary, a stronger market for farmers translates into more affordable food for Filipino families. The statement emphasized the link between producer support and consumer price stability.

The rice program now operates in 57 provinces through a network of 805 KADIWA stores, of which 295 maintain regular selling schedules. This expansion reflects the government's effort to broaden access to essential commodities.

The Department’s assistant secretary noted that the initiative continues to improve food accessibility while strengthening market opportunities for local producers. Ongoing support aims to sustain these gains for both consumers and farmers.
