Noah Kahan has a message for fans attending his shows: please don't poop on the floor. In response to a viral incident at his Philadelphia concert, Kahan took to social media to remind fans to use the bathroom facilities.
The incident in question allegedly involved a fan who defecated on the floor near the stage, with a bystander reportedly saying the person "acted like nothing happened" after security was flagged down to remove them. Kahan saw the chatter online and immediately weighed in, joking that he would need to buy "significantly more boxers" if tour was going to involve such incidents.
In response to the incident, Kahan told his fans to find a bathroom if they felt the urge to go, adding that there's a venue worker "with a 1000 yard stare" after dealing with such incidents. He also poked fun at himself, joking that he had pooped his pants onstage in Charlottesville but that it was part of his dedication to his craft.
Kahan's plea for fans to use the bathroom facilities was not a joke, however, and he made fans in Toronto pledge to find a washroom if they felt a number two coming on during his show at Rogers Stadium. He told the crowd of 50,000 that they were entering a "social contract" that included not "literally f*ing kill[ing] each other" and not "s*[ing] on the floor."
Kahan's message was echoed by other artists, including Olivia Rodrigo, who has spoken out about having to perform while smelling her fans' poop from the stage. Rodrigo said that fans wearing diapers is a thing, and that she has experienced it firsthand at certain concerts and festivals.
The issue of fans wearing diapers to concerts has also been documented on social media, with fans sharing their experiences of wearing adult diapers to see artists like Taylor Swift. While some have joked about the experience, others have spoken out about the stress and discomfort of wearing diapers to a concert.
Kahan's show in Toronto was reportedly poop-free, and he took to social media to praise the crowd. "Toronto f*ing insane," he wrote, adding that he was grateful to have such a considerate and respectful crowd.
