ELEPHANT REVENGE: Millionaire Hunter CRUSHED in Africa!

ELEPHANT REVENGE: Millionaire Hunter CRUSHED in Africa!

The pursuit of a rare prize ended in tragedy for Ernie Dosio, a 75-year-old millionaire, deep within the Gabonese rainforest. He had dedicated years, and a considerable fortune, to tracking elusive game across the African continent, but it was a confrontation with nature’s raw power that ultimately claimed his life.

Dosio, a Californian vineyard owner, was hunting the shy yellow-backed duiker, a small antelope known for its reclusive nature, alongside a professional hunter in the Lope-Okanda forest. They ventured further into the dense undergrowth, driven by the thrill of the chase and the desire to secure a coveted trophy.

Their search took an unexpected and terrifying turn when they unexpectedly disturbed a family of elephants – five females fiercely protecting their calf. The encounter was instantaneous and brutal; the elephants, startled and enraged, charged without warning.

The professional hunter was thrown violently aside, losing his weapon in the chaos. He sustained serious injuries, a stark reminder of the inherent dangers of the wild. Dosio, however, bore the full force of the attack.

He was trampled to death, a devastating end to a lifetime spent seeking out the world’s most formidable creatures. The elephants, hidden within the thick vegetation, had appeared almost as specters, turning a hunt into a desperate struggle for survival.

Those who knew Dosio described a hunter driven not by bloodlust, but by a belief in conservation through carefully managed culling. Strict licensing laws in Gabon prevented him from bringing his own firearms, forcing him to rely on weapons supplied by the hunting company.

Over the years, Dosio had pursued a wide range of African game, including elephants, leopards, rhinos, and lions, always adhering to legal regulations. He was also an avid hunter of North American deer, having collected trophies from nearly every species.

He leaves behind a long-term partner, Betty, and two sons, Jeff and Blake. The US Embassy in Gabon is now working to repatriate his remains to his home in Lodi, California, bringing an end to a life lived on the edge of the wild.

The incident serves as a chilling reminder of the untamed power of nature and the inherent risks faced by those who venture into its domain, even with the most meticulous planning and experienced guides.
