TEEN EXECUTED: Tow Truck Gang Faces Justice!

TEEN EXECUTED: Tow Truck Gang Faces Justice!

In the pre-dawn darkness of March 6, 2025, a chilling scene unfolded near Highway 8 and Fruitland Road in Stoney Creek. A frantic 911 call brought police to the site of a violent confrontation, where a white Kia sedan and a red Acura SUV sat damaged, bearing the marks of a brutal attack.

Inside the Acura, 16-year-old Faizaan Awan, a young man from York Region, lay suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. Despite the desperate efforts of first responders, Awan succumbed to his injuries in hospital, his life tragically cut short. What began as a pursuit would end in unimaginable loss.

The investigation quickly revealed this was no random act of violence. Detectives determined Awan was the victim of a targeted attack, a deliberate act fueled by a simmering dispute within the fiercely competitive towing industry. The scene wasn’t simply a shooting; it was the culmination of escalating tensions.

Hamilton Police have charged these 5 men in connection with the March 6, 2025, shooting death of Faizaan Awan, 16, of York Region in Stoney Creek, Ont.,

Five individuals have now been charged with first-degree murder in connection with Awan’s death: Mohammad Aburas, 26, of Ottawa, and Ameer Nabout, 22, Ameen Nabout, 20, Rami Qasem, 42, and Sari Nawabit, all of Hamilton. All five also face attempted murder charges related to the two other occupants of Awan’s vehicle, who miraculously survived the shooting.

The investigation, described as complex and demanding, spanned multiple jurisdictions. Police executed five search warrants, meticulously gathering witness statements, analyzing physical evidence, and sifting through a mountain of video and digital data. A recent surge of new evidence proved pivotal in leading to the arrests.

Authorities allege the accused were connected to Provincial Tow, a now-defunct local towing company. The evidence suggests Awan’s vehicle was relentlessly pursued for kilometers by a group of cars, a chase that ultimately ended in tragedy. The roots of the violence lay in an ongoing feud between rival towing businesses.

Investigators believe two of the accused were members of the family that owned Provincial Tow, another was married into the family, and the remaining two were employees. Just days before the shooting, Provincial Tow itself had been targeted in an arson attack, potentially escalating the conflict and setting the stage for the deadly encounter.

Detectives emphasize that the investigation is far from over. They believe additional individuals were involved and are actively working to identify and locate them. The pursuit of justice continues, driven by a commitment to hold all those responsible accountable for Awan’s death.

“To Faizaan’s family, our thoughts are with you,” stated a lead detective. “We know nothing can undo what has happened, but we are committed to seeking accountability.” Awan, a young man with a future stolen from him, is remembered not as a participant in a dispute, but as a son whose life was tragically lost to senseless violence.

Anyone with information regarding this case is urged to contact Hamilton Police or Crime Stoppers, as investigators continue to piece together the events of that fateful night and seek to bring complete closure to a grieving family and a shaken community.
