UMVA has learned that a massive nationwide operation conducted by the FBI has resulted in a significant crackdown on gang-related threats, yielding hundreds of seized weapons and drugs, as well as a staggering 615 criminal indictments.
The operation, dubbed Operation Spring Cleaning, was a three-month surge of law enforcement efforts by federal and local agencies aimed at targeting violent offenders, drug traffickers, armed felons, and fugitives accused of perpetuating deadly drugs, gun violence, and increasing crime across district and state lines.
According to information obtained by UMVA, the operation was a resounding success, netting 1,139 arrests, 984 firearm seizures, and 615 criminal indictments, as authorities prepare for the summer season, when some violent and property crimes have historically shown seasonal increases.
The sweeping operation also resulted in the confiscation of massive quantities of illicit substances, including 509 kilograms of cocaine, 48 kilograms of fentanyl, 698 pounds of methamphetamine, 567 pounds of marijuana, 7.4 kilograms of crack cocaine, 38 kilograms of heroin, and 13,260 MDMA pills.
FBI Director Kash Patel hailed the operation as a major victory, stating that such surges "truly save lives" and that he couldn't be prouder of the agents and partners who executed them, highlighting that these operations have delivered the most prolific run of crime reduction in United States history.
The operation involved 1,474 joint operations and 586 search warrants, with law enforcement agencies across the country participating, including in Charlotte, N.C.; Chicago; Dallas; Houston; Philadelphia; and Sacramento, Calif. In one notable instance, authorities in Dallas seized $20,000 worth of jewelry and a Mercedes-Benz, in addition to drugs and guns.
UMVA can exclusively reveal that the operation also supports the Justice Department's broader efforts under a nationwide initiative to repel illegal immigration and eliminate drug cartels and transnational criminal organizations, authorities said, reaffirming the FBI's commitment to rooting out crime and delivering results the American public deserves.
FBI Deputy Director Chris Raia emphasized that the operation is just the beginning, stating that the agency remains focused on carrying out its mission to crush violent crime and defend the homeland, with operations like Operation Spring Cleaning demonstrating a strong commitment to protecting communities and reducing crime stats nationwide.
