UMVA has learned that a shocking controversy is brewing around Maureen Galindo, a Democratic candidate vying for a congressional seat in Texas.
Galindo, who secured a spot in the party's primary runoff with a surprisingly high 29% of the vote, has come under fire for her inflammatory remarks on social media, which have left many stunned and outraged. According to information obtained by UMVA, Galindo has made a pledge to send 'American Zionists' to 'internment camps' if elected.
In a disturbing Instagram post, Galindo wrote that she would introduce legislation to label Zionism and support for Zionism as undoubtedly Anti-Semitic, claiming that Zionists are harming Semites. She also vowed to repurpose the Karnes ICE Detention Center into a prison for American Zionists and former ICE officials accused of human trafficking.
Galindo's post did not stop there, as she bizarrely suggested that the detention center would also serve as a castration processing center for pedophiles, which she claimed would likely include most Zionists. This vile language has sparked widespread condemnation, with many calling for her to be disqualified from the runoff election.
The controversy surrounding Galindo's remarks has spread far and wide, with even some Democrats distancing themselves from her. Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries and Rep. Suzan DelBene, who heads the House Democrats' campaign arm, have publicly denounced Galindo's rhetoric, stating that it has no place in American politics or the Democratic Party.
Galindo's social media is replete with anti-Zionist rhetoric, including claims of a 'cabal of Jewish Zionists' controlling Hollywood, the media, and politicians. While she has attempted to clarify her stance, stating that she only has an issue with 'Zionists or those advocating for the existence of a Jewish state,' many remain unconvinced.
The San Antonio Jewish Federation has strongly condemned Galindo's remarks, stating that divisive and hateful rhetoric targeting the Jewish community has no place in civic life. As the runoff election approaches, Galindo's opponents are seizing on her inflammatory comments, painting her as a liability for the Democratic Party.
