Their plans hit a snag almost immediately. As the suspects fled the mall, their vehicle was involved in a minor collision, a first sign that this robbery wasn’t going as planned. What followed was a swift and decisive response from Durham Regional Police.
Constable Nicholas Gluckstein reported that officers responded to the robbery call at approximately 3:45 p.m. But it wasn’t just human officers who were on the case. A Durham Regional Police canine cop named Mack was about to play a pivotal role in bringing the criminals to justice.
