US Central Command reports third consecutive night of attacks on Iran

US Central Command forces have launched a third consecutive night of strikes against Iranian military targets in response to Iran's recent attacks on commercial vessels transiting the Strait of Hormuz. The strikes began at 4:45 p.m. ET on Monday, as directed by the Commander in Chief. These actions aim to impose a heavy cost on Iranian forces and degrade their ability to attack innocent civilians and commercial shipping.

The latest strikes mark the fifth round of US attacks on Iranian targets since last Tuesday. President Trump had previously declared that a ceasefire was "over" following US strikes on Iran in response to Iran targeting ships in the Strait of Hormuz. Despite this, the US has agreed to continue talks with Iran.

The US resumed strikes on Saturday after Iran targeted another commercial vessel in the Strait, followed by another round of strikes on Sunday. The ongoing military actions come as the US has reinstated its naval blockade against Iranian ports.

President Trump has stated that the US is taking control of the Strait of Hormuz, characterizing Iran as having "nothing" to offer in negotiations. He also suggested that the US will charge a 20% toll on all cargo shipped through the volatile region to cover the costs of providing safety and security.

The escalating conflict has prompted the President to announce a speech to the nation on Thursday evening. The situation remains volatile, with the US seeking to degrade Iran's military capabilities and protect commercial shipping in the region.
